Born in Yarmouth and now living in Halifax, Bria
describes herself as a queer, black, indigenous
mixed media visual artist, activist and musician.
She also works as a graphic facilitator and as
an arts educator who leads workshops across
Nova Scotia. Bria believes in the importance of
spaces where racialized and 2SLGBTQ+ artists
can create together, find support and access to
explore, and have their individual voices heard.
She is working to organize a shared art space
to center these beautiful and crucially import-
ant voices that contain endless magic, and are
often silenced or outright neglected by our
institutions and therefore society.
