Eli Wener has been working in the music business since he signed his first client, Gypsy Bird (aka Bear Mountain), over a decade ago. What started as a hobby slowly morphed into a full-time lifestyle. He’s worked in all corners of the business including as a promoter with events like Brother Ali, Apostle of Hustle, An Evening with Spike Lee and Portugal the Man’s first ever show in Vancouver to 10 people. Eli’s passion is working directly with artists managing their careers. He’s developed an array of different styles including HUMANS, No Sinner, Desi Sub Culture, and Delhi 2 Dublin. Eli also loves licensing where he’s worked directly with supervisors landing many placements including EA Sports, CSI, HBO, MTV, Vice and most recently the theme music for Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Who Is America?”. For the last number of years, Eli worked at the Paquin Agency in a rare role as both manager & agent handling bookings for artists including K’Naan, Serena Ryder and The Dead South and managing his personal client roster.
Today, Eli runs his own management shop out of Toronto handling the careers of DJ Shub, Five Alarm Funk, Ollie and LIINKS. He’s also the talent buyer for the Red Truck Concert Series in Vancouver which is going into it’s 4th year. Past headliners include Cut Copy, Lee Fields, and Drake White.
When not in the office, you might find Eli on the tennis court, skiing in Whistler or playing D-man on some old Toronto rink.
