Donna has been employed in the music industry for more than twenty-five years – starting her career in a small independent music company in Toronto. She currently holds the position of Vice-President Operations with the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA), the Canadian voice and trade association for the independent Canadian music industry. CIMA’s membership consists of Canadian-owned companies, and representatives of Canadian-owned companies, who in turn represent thousands of Canadian artists and performers. They are exclusively small businesses involved in every aspect of the music and music- related industries including producers, labels, recording studios, managers, publishers, festivals, artist-entrepreneurs and others professionally involved in the sound recording industry.
Donna oversees CIMA’s programs and services to support the sector – our export office providing opportunities for Canadian music companies and artists on the world stage, our professional development initiatives creating targeted business-to-business events at both international and domestic festivals and conferences, our membership development dedicated to providing a forum for all stakeholders in the sector to share and disseminate information and engage in best practices and excellence in sound recording.
CIMA is an advocacy leader, representing the national interests of the Canadian-owned independent music industry, while providing targeted services for the economic benefit of our membership.
